Mission

To help speed up our transition to net-zero, using a new and dynamic

'whole-systems-thinking’ approach for Project Interface Control and Change Management.

Vision

An industry in which:

all parts of the supply chain use a common language and frame of reference for how interfaces are identified, communicated, managed and closed-out, streamlining the processes and reducing the risks for everyone involved.

An industry in which:

robust Interface Control and Change Management practices are visibly effective in routinely delivering projects on time and on budget.

An industry in which:

the ‘tools of choice’ for identifying and tracking crucial interfaces are fit-for-purpose, i.e. they are not just the 'lowest common denominator' of universally available software packages, which - despite being good for many other tasks - are ultimately unsuitable for the complexity of this activity.

Values

Transitioning to a net-zero society will take all the collective knowledge and wisdom that we can gather.

How we share that knowledge and how we cultivate that wisdom will directly influence how successful we are in this transition.

No-one can do this alone: we must learn how to truly collaborate - between organisations, throughout projects, and across borders.

Time is not on our side for transitioning to a net-zero society, and neither is time a freely available resource for individual project delivery teams. In both contexts we must act swiftly.

We need to get used to thinking more holistically right from the start. If we can do that, we will be much less likely to keep hearing - in ‘lessons-learned’ workshops during/after project delivery - that 'we should have started the interface management work earlier'.

Interface Management is one area where we have significant opportunity to improve the way we seek joined-up solutions across project boundaries: this can only happen when proactivity is valued and encouraged.
